Michael Jaehwan Lee's Full Bio
Michael is a bilingual (Korean & English) practicing Kinesiologist in Vancouver B.C.
He graduated from the University of Waterloo with a Bachelor’s Degree of Science in Kinesiology and a minor in Rehabilitation Science. He has experience working as a student athletic therapist with Waterloo’s varsity Volleyball and Squash teams, and he is currently certified under the British Columbia Association of Kinesiologists (BCAK).
Sports and physical activities have been a huge part of Michael’s life. He has experienced a wide range of sports & activities, such as: swimming, ice hockey/ ringette, golf, kendo, football, wrestling, badminton, volleyball, and more. He is currently focusing his training for competitive powerlifting.
He developed an interest for rehabilitation after overcoming sports-related injuries. Having to go through rehabilitation processes himself allowed him to see how physical activity can positively impact the quality of lives. Physical activities are not limited to sports, but also for general functional health. This experience further piqued Michael’s interest in the study of Kinesiology, to dabble into the sciences of human movement, whether it’s for sports or general activities of daily living.
He is currently looking out for further education in strength and conditioning as well as studies within rehabilitation sciences and sports medicine.
During his free times, he also likes to spend time with photography, videography, drawing, cooking new dishes, eating, playing badminton and volleyball recreationally. Often pretty open to various activities.
FUN FACT: Michael fell off a ski lift as a child. Fortunately, he left the mountain completely uninjured.
