What is Kinesiology?

Simply put, Kinesiology is the science of human movement

The British Columbia Association of Kinesiologists (BCAK) defines Kinesiology as “The assessment of movement, performance and function and the rehabilitation, prevention and management of disorders to maintain, rehabilitate or enhance movement, performance and function, in the areas of sport, recreation, work, exercise, and activities of daily living.”

Simply put, Kinesiology is the science of human movement. As Kinesiologists, we apply the principles of biomechanics, anatomy, physiology and psychomotor behaviour to improve the lives of people of all ages and physical ability.

How do we do that? By assessing, tracking and managing your personal health goals, then working with you to achieve them.

Why is it Important?

It’s well-known fact that exercise and physical activity are the keys to a healthy life. What is a little less known is how a practicing Kinesiologist can help improve your life.

As specialists in exercise and the body’s motion we can help you move better, live longer and be healthier.

We are experts in preventing and managing injuries and helping people (like you) reach your peak physical performance.

We use evidence-based research to develop a program that will help you get and stay fit, and perform at your optimum level.

We believe in empowering people to look after their own health.

We focus on prevention and wellbeing, by increasing your productivity and reducing time lost to injuries and accidents, to help you get back to work and back to your life faster.

We specialize in exercise and the body’s motion and can help you move better, live longer and be healthier.
