Thank you to my amazing staff and clients

Balance in Motion Rehab and Conditioning Ltd. has officially been running as a facility for more than a year now, but sometimes the whole thing still feels surreal to me.   I have nothing but amazing clients who have not only supported me personally and BIM, but they have embraced training as part of their life. In addition to dedicated clients, I am surrounded with possibly the best co-workers ever.

Years ago, when I first graduated I had anticipated on applying for the Physiotherapy program at UBC but after finishing my bachelors I was in need of a break from school. I was itching to get my hands dirty and start applying my skills in a more practical way.   I decided that I would practice kinesiology until I stopped learning and/or enjoying it; nine years later and I am still going strong.

I absolutely love what I do and I can honestly say that I learn something new EVERYDAY, which is amazing. Being able to open a facility has been nothing short of incredible.   Running a studio that consist of clients who amaze me on a daily basis as well as extraordinary staff makes me completely committed to be better of a coach, business owner, employer, and peer everyday.

I want to dedicate the majority of this post to Chad, Jen, Nicole, and Darius because without them BIM would not be what it is today, nor would I. These four people not only bring their best with them every time they walk through the entrance of our studio but they do so with positive energy, consideration, enthusiasm, and most importantly, passion. To love what you do is one thing, but to be blessed to be surrounded by inspiring, intelligent, charismatic people that are just as passionate as I am, is truly a gift and I am forever thankful.

Chad

2BIM-11

“The Chad” has been with BIM for just about 2 years and never ceases to impress me with his ability to be great at everything he does. He is always approachable with his well-mannered charm and maybe one of the most considerate people I know. Chad is the type of coach that understands people’s potential and won’t let them stop until they can see it too. Either that or he will yell at you (politely) until you do it! Chad has made me a better coach and business owner in so many ways and I feel completely fortunate to have him as part of the BIM team.

Jen

BIM-32

We have a running joke that Jen showed up one day and never left. This girl is always keen to learn and in her last semester of university she started shadowing at BIM. She came regularly and soaked up any info she could get. It didn’t take long for me to realize that this girl is a definite keeper and I was excited when I had an opportunity to officially bring her on as part of our team. Jen is genuine in everything that she does and she goes above and beyond when it comes to doing a good job. She is incredibly smart and caring which makes her an amazing coach and a great rehabilitation specialist. More often than not Jen will be the first person to welcome you when you enter BIM normally with a warm sincere smile or depending on who you some sort of inside joke she may have with you.

Nicole

BIM-48

Nicole entered my life about a year and a half ago and I am thankful everyday.  For those of you who have been long term clients know how terrible I was at administrative duties, I’m not sure how often my clients would ask, “Andrea, when do you want me to pay you?”. Nicole came in and took over just in time. I am always astonished of how many tasks this girl can get done in a day! Nicole is the nicest, most empathetic, and giving person I know. She never complains about anything and is always cheerful and supportive and has a true gift for organization. She has only just started her schooling for nutrition but is already a fantastic nutrition coach. I am so excited that she has decided to pursue nutrition as a career, as it couldn’t be more perfect for her.

Darius

BIM-28

“DaAArius” is our newest recruit but it didn’t take him long to call BIM his home. Darius has a way of making you feel good about anything that you do but always makes sure people are performing their very best. His attention to detail does not go unnoticed and no one walks away from any of his sessions feeling sub par. Darius brings a wealth of knowledge with him and has a unique ability to adapt his training to meet the needs of any client. He is genuinely dedicated to being a great coach and athlete and always leads his way by example. Darius has already contributed so much to BIM and I can’t tell you how ecstatic I was to learn that he is extending his stay in Canada to next spring.

To all our BIMfamily, old and new, I want to thank you giving us the opportunity to make it what it is today.

Love Andrea
