Prepping healthy meals and snacks is essential to eating healthy, especially when you lead a busy life like most of us do.
One of my favourite healthy snacks is trail mix. Yes you can pick-up a tub of trail mix at Costco, but there is something so satisfying about making your own. The fact that it’s stupid easy to do, and that you can add whatever you like to your mix is an added bonus.
When I prepare my mix I like to put everything together in large mason jars, then pull out what I need when I’m ready for it. The mason jar helps keep the nuts crisp, and the fruit from going stale. It also looks lovely in your pantry. ????
Here is my favourite go to trail mix recipe. My only tip is to make sure that you use raw, unsalted nuts in the recipe. It ups the health factor of the snack. ????

Homemade Trail Mix
Ingredients
1/2 cup raw unsalted cashews
1/2 cup raw unsalted hazelnuts or almonds or both
1/2 cup raw unsalted pumpkin seeds
1/2 cup raisins or dried unsweetened cranberries
1/4 cup dark chocolate chips
Instructions
Place all ingredients in a large glass jar and shake. Like I said, this recipe is “stupid easy to prepare.” ????
