4 Smoothie Recipes that You NEED to Try

Smoothies are a great option for breakfast or snack on the go.  You can pack a lot of great ingredients into one yummy shake.

Here are a few of my favourites courtesy of the Oh She Glows Cookbook.  Or if you want to create your own masterpiece, HERE is a great infographic to use as a guide.

Classic Green Monster

1c of milk, almond or coconut milk

1c destemmed kale leaves or spinach

1 ripe banana peeled and frozen

2 to 3 ice cubes

1tbsp almond or peanut butter

1tbsp chia seeds or ground flaxseed

1/4 tsp vanilla extract

Pinch of cinnamon

1 scoop protein powder

 

Cheerful Chocolate 

2c almond milk

1/4c avocado

2tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder

1tsp vanilla extract

Very small pinch of fine-grain sea salt

4 to 6 pitted Medjool dates (to taste)

4 to 6 ice cubes

1/4tsp expresso powder (optional)

1 scoop Protein powder

*I’ve added spinach to this to sneak in some greens

 

The Gym Rat

1c almond milk

2tbsp rolled oats

2 to 3 pitted Medjool dates (to taste)

1tbsp chia seeds

1tbsp peanut butter or almond butter

¼ to 1/2tsp ground cinnamon to taste

¼ tsp vanilla extract

4 to 5 ice cubes

1 scoop protein powder

*I’ve added spinach to this to snake in some greens

*If you’re feeling wild, combining the ingredients of the Gym Rat and Cheerful Chocolate is delish

 

Velvety Pumpkin Pie (this is for a special indulgence)

1c almond milk

2tbsp rolled oats

½c canned pumpkin

½ to 1tsp blackstrap molasses (to taste)

½ large banana, frozen

1tsp cinnamon

¼tsp ground ginger

1/8tsp nutmeg

4 or 5 ice cubes

1tbsp maple syrup
