There are just so many options out there! It’s wild how much we’re constantly bombarded with the urge to buy—how our brains justify spending in some areas while feeling guilty in others.
Personally, I don’t shop online much. The endless options overwhelm me and leave me paralyzed. It’s the same with finding something to watch on TV, I spend so much time scrolling that I usually give up. Don’t even get me started on massive restaurant menus; I’ll read them cover to cover five times, only to stick with what I know.
I think this “option paralysis” hits especially hard when it comes to fitness. Deciding where to start, how to get back on track, or even which program to choose must often feel impossible. With so much noise out there, it’s easy to spin your wheels.
My biggest piece of advice for building a consistent routine? Start small. Pick a performance goal, something exciting that challenges you, and focus on what it will feel like to achieve it. Why does it matter to you? Use that as your guide.
For me, picking goals that add meaning to my life and fill my soul with joy helps me clear the clutter, say no to distractions, and stay consistent with habits that support those goals.
And if you can’t think of a goal right now, give yourself permission to step out of your own way. You’re more capable than you realize….you just have to believe in yourself enough to give it a try.
So… what are you going to get after today? This week?
